What to Note About Lifeline?
1.Eligibility Rules
Eligibility rules differ by state, but generally include receipt of some form of government assistance, like Medicaid, SNAP or SSI, or an income at or below 135% of the federal poverty line. When they apply, they must show proof of their eligibility — benefit statements or pay stubs.
2.One Benefit For One Household
It’s been put in place that Lifeline benefits may only be awarded once per household, so it won’t be possible to apply more than once even if multiple sets of people in a single residence wanted to all apply for a different discount. This rule will not only be enforced, but members will be disqualified for violating this rule. You need to renew on a yearly basis to keep the discount, and if you don't renew in time, you'll be out of service.
